The south garden project is a grass roots volunteer organization that works to provide fresh food to food deserts in Baton Rouge, La. A food desert is any area that lacks access to produce stands or grocery stores within reasonable walking distance. We creates gardens, teach classes on gardening and cooking and create a source of fresh food in the neighborhood.
